The Int'l Fund for Horses (IFH) is the most dynamic equine advocacy organization of its kind.
Incorporated in 2003 as a 501(c)(4) non-profit charity, its purpose is to influence the passage of equine protection legislation, effect the enforcement of existing laws, promote higher standards of stewardship through education, and act as industry watchdogs.
Headquartered in the United States in Houston, Texas, IFH has a broad-based constituency of citizen lobbyists in seven countries. IFH's political activities are carried out under the name of Fund for Horses in the United States, and the Int'l Fund for Horses outside the United States.
IFH also has a sister organization, Fund for Horses Charities. Established in 2004, FHC is a 501(c)(3) non profit charitable corporation whose mission is to provide support for equine rescue, rehabilitation, retraining and homes for displaced horses.
To further its mission, IFH works closely with a large network of rescues, sanctuaries, and rehabilitation and adoption facilities in the United States, Canada, Europe and the UK.
In addition to its head office in Houston, IFH has offices in New York City and Washington D.C.

MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Int'l Fund for Horses is to promote and safeguard the health, safety and welfare of equines worldwide.
IFH is dedicated to ensuring that humane standards are set and kept relating to the working and domestic life of all equines from the beginning to the end of their lives. It is particularly committed to ending horse slaughter for human consumption wherever it exists.
IFH is also devoted to the conservation of wild horses, mules, donkeys, burros and zebras in their natural habitats.
POLICY STATEMENT
The Int'l Fund for Horses is firmly committed to fulfilling its mission statement through peaceful and lawful means. Therefore IFH will neither knowingly nor willingly participate in or condone, incite or promote others to participate in unlawful or un-peaceful activities, nor will it harass, encourage others to harass, or support those who do.
OPERATING STRUCTURE
IFH is staffed by telecommuting or virtual volunteers.
IFH staff complete their duties, in whole or in part, via email and the Internet, using their own computers and equipment.
Virtual volunteering provides IFH staff the flexibility they need in order to donate their time and services, and gives IFH the freedom to recruit from among the very best talent available without being restricted to geographic location.
In operating this way, IFH saves on office overheads allowing it to give the financial contributions it receives maximum impact.
